A fire in a University of Iowa dorm caused about ten-thousand dollars worth of damage, and officials say it was intentionally set. Residents of Daum Hall were evacuated early Monday morning — at about 1:30 — after a small fire broke out on the first floor. Smoke filled the lobby, and investigators say the fire started in a display case. Students went to nearby Burge Hall while firefighters knocked down the blaze. Students were let back into their rooms at about three a.m. Firefighters say a sprinkler system helped keep the fire from spreading.
