It’s been months since that accused mailbox bomber was apprehended after terrorizing the Midwest — and now it may be even longer before he goes to trial. 21-year-old Luke Helder, of Pine Island, Minnesota, is being held in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, jail after allegedly planting pipebombs in 18 mailboxes last May across Iowa, Nebraska and three other states. Six people were hurt by the explosions as Helder reportedly tried to make a smiley face on the map with bomb locations. Helder was to face federal charges at trial starting March 14th, but his lawyers have filed a motion seeking a delay. U-S District Court Judge Mark Bennett has yet to make a ruling on the request.
