The Iowa Hawkeyes fell victim to another late run Wednesday night. Minnesota finished the game with a 17-4 run as the Hawkeyes dropped a 77-64 decision in the Twin Cities. Iowa coach Steve Alford says the team has played hard, but has had breakdowns defensively in the final four minutes of the game. Alford says he continues to be pleased with the effort of his team. He says they battled back a couple of times after getting down and he says he told them they’ve played hard. He says he’s appreciative of the effort, but they just don’t have a toughness yet.
