A 38-year-old man was arrested late Friday afternoon in Waterloo for allegedly making a false bomb threat. Scott Kennedy had been going through security at the airport when he set off an alarm that could signal either illegal drugs or explosive material. The airport was evacuated for a time, but ticketed passengers returned by later in the afternoon. Kennedy’s believed to be an Australian citizen. US attorney Charles Larson says no formal charges have been filed yet against Kennedy. The US attorney’s office and the FBI are handling the case, and not releasing any other details for now.
