Iowa coach Steve Alford says games against Indiana are becoming less awkward. Alford starred for the Hoosiers in the mid-80s and his first game at Iowa against his old school brought with it a circus-like atmosphere. That has changed since Bob Knight was ousted as coach, as it is now just a game against his alma mater and there’s not the intensity of coaching against his former coach. Alford says it was uncomfortable to coach against Knight. He says it will be awkward when they play at Texas Tech next year where Knight now coaches.Alford says with Knight no longer on the Hoosier bench it has become like another Big Ten contest. Iowa is 5-5 in Big Ten play and is at home against Indiana Wednesday night.
