The North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force got a check for 46-thousand dollars Monday. The money was part of nearly 61-thousand dollars in cash seized during the arrest of a northeast Iowa couple. The money, believed to be the proceeds from drug sales, was taken from the Rockford home of 42-year-old Michael Sandmeyer and 41-year-old Ruth Lee. The money was confiscated along with a gun and methamphetamine on October 31st of 2001. Sandmeyer and Lee were convicted of possession with intent to deliver more than 500 grams of meth. The North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force is comprised of officers from the Mason City police, the Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Department, Iowa State Patrol, Army National Guard, F-B-I and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
