A Dubuque man is charged in the deaths of his two children and the wounding of his estranged wife. Dubuque police say 38-year-old Michael Walker faces two counts of first-degree murder and one county of attempted murder. Police say Walker stabbed and critically wounded his estranged wife, 34-year-old Karen Walker, last night. He’s also accused of suffocating his two children, a nine year old girl and an eight-year-old boy. Police responded to a report of a stabbing and found Karen Walker at her apartment in Dubuque suffering from stab wounds. They later found Michael Walker in the area suffering from cuts and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police then determined they needed to check on the couple’s children. Police say the found the two children, Lindsay and Jordan at Michael Walker’s apartment across town. The investigation indicates the two were suffocated Monday. Michael Walker will appear in court today.
