Want to whack a pinata, learn to play Cricket and watch an traditional Thai swordfighting match? It’s all going to be underway tomorrow along with dozens of other windows on the world at the “Celebrating Cultural Diversity Festival” at the University of Iowa. Tom Snee a spokesman for the U-of-I says anout 100 cultures will be represented. Other items on the schedule include: African drummers, dancers from India, Spanish bingo, Sudanese singers, Korean films and a Turkish folk music show. The event is expected to draw many thousands of people to the U-of-I’s Field House. Snee says there promises to be about 100 cultures represented and everyone who attends is bound to learn something.The fest runs from noon to five on Sunday at the Iowa City campus. Admission is free but vendors will charge for food and crafts.
