Having dropped seven of their last nine games the Iowa Hawkeyes still have a difficult schedule to close out the regular season. The Hawks play three of the next four on the road beginning with tonight’s game at Ohio State. Iowa coach Steve Alford says the Hawks have given great effort but he’s concerned his team may be wearing down, as he says they are a great group of guys with a lot of pride. He says they expended a lot of mental energy in the early part of the season and now a few losses have started to add pressure. Alford says handling that pressure will determine how the Hawks finish the season. He says there’s pressure in every Big Ten lockerroom as each team fights for position. Alford says you have to be strong mentally to win the fight. Iowa is 5-7 in the Big Ten.
