Iowans would be able to pay extra for a new license plate that raises money for breast cancer victims if a bill that cleared the Iowa Senate last night becomes law. Senator Dick Drake of Muscatine says the specialty plate would cost five dollars extra per year. He says men are also developing breast cancer, so it’s not a one-sided deal. If the bill’s approved by the House and the Governor, the breast cancer awareness plate, Iowa would have 57 “specialty” plates available to vehicle owners.
