What’s five inches long, orange, crunchy and got a northern Iowa town national attention last night? The world’s largest Cheeto was finally put on display in Algona. There was plenty of media attention, a police and fire escort, then the unveiling of the snack as a large crowd chanted “Cheeto-Cheeto.” A proclamation was read from Algona’s mayor and from Governor Vilsack. The ABC-TV program Jimmy Kimmel Live even ran a segment on the Cheeto. Proceeds from efforts to obtain the Cheeto and from an auction of donated items from Frito Lay will go to the Kossuth County Food Pantry.
