The Boys’ State Basketball Tournament is underway in Veterans Auditorium with the opening round in class 1A. Hubbard-Radcliffe’s game plan against unbeaten North Mahaska was to control All- State center Grant Stout but it left open senior guard Trevor Harkema who made them pay. Harkema finished with a game high 33-points, including five three pointers in the Warhawks 72-63 win.Hubbard-Radcliffe coach John Rahn says everytime his Rebels made a run Harkema would end it.Hubbad-Radcliffe ends the season 16-8.Also in 1A, Keith Sietstra made his first ten sots and finished with 21-points as Boyden-Hull cruised past Treynor 85-48The Comets shot a sizzling 69-percent for the game by making 31 of 45 shots Boyden-Hull coach Bill Francis says the most impressive stat to him was 21 assists for the team.Treynor coach Jerry Christensen says his team never found an answer on the defensive end.
