Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz knows that a record breaking 2002 season will bring with it higher expectations. The Hawkeyes finished 11-2, unbeaten in the Big Ten and capped it off with a first-ever trip to the Orange Bowl. It will be difficult to duplicate those accomplishments next Fall but Ferentz says high expectations are better than none at all. He says it’s a good problem to have and every year the team is different and “all you can do is all you can do.”Ferentz says the success of last season began with off-season workouts and this team has approached them the same way. He says they have to start all over again from zero.Iowa opens Spring drill this week.Last year the Hawks had an experienced offense and an inexperienced defense. Ferentz says this Spring the situation is reversed.
