After a surprising non-conference season, the Upper Iowa softball team looks to become a contender for the Iowa Conference title. Upper Iowa is 15-7, already a school record for wins, and will open the league race against Cornell. Coach Brent Kukel says the entire lineup has been productive and Pitcher Angie Weber is off to a 10-4 start, with 144 strikeouts. Kukel says the league race will be as difficult as expected because every team in the conference has improved. He says that’ll make this an exciting year in the conference.
