The Iowa Highway Patrol is advising -no- travel on several roads in north-central and northwest Iowa due to heavy snow over the past day. While much of the upper two-thirds of the state saw at least some snowfall, National Weather Service meteorologist Jeff Johnson says the deepest snow is about eight inches in the Pocahontas area, while parts of central Iowa got about four inches. Johnson says the snow’s still coming down, but not as swiftly as before.For the latest road condition reports from the Highway Patrol, consult www.IowaRoadConditions.com. Since it’s been spring since March 20th, Johnson was asked how unusual this storm is, given we’re a full week into April now. He expects temperatures back in the 60s by week’s end and says this storm brought about a half-inch of moisture.
