Former Pittsburgh Pirate great Bill Mazeroski will visit the Bob Feller museum in Van Meter on April 19th. Mazeroski became the first player to end a World Series with a home run in game seven against the Yankees in 1960. Museum executive director Julie Bailey says Feller will be on hand as well.Mazeroski’s visit is the first in a series of visits by Hall of Famers including, Rollie Fingers, Jim Bunning, Steve Carlton and Yogi Berra. All will sign autographs to raise funds for the museum.Bailey says the fundraisers are important because the museum is looking at a future expansion. She says all the proceeds go to the museum.
