Iowa women’s basketball coach Lisa Bluder has promoted Jan Jensen to Associate Head Coach. Jensen is in her fourth year as an assistant at Iowa and prior to that spent eight seasons on Bluder’s staff at Drake. She says she continues to learn from Lisa everyday and will continue to learn. Jensen has had several opportunities to become a head coach but feels the Iowa situation is the right fit at the current time. She says so often in life you can overlook the current working environment you’re in and she says she’s learned alot about coaching from Bluder and says Bluder is a class act. Jensen says when she does make the move to a head coaching position, it will be the right time. Jensen feels there is still a lot to accomplish at Iowa and she wants to be a part of it. Jensen says it is not just a title and coach Bluder will be adding to her duties. She says the workload will increase as she does some of the things that Bluder has been doing to take it off her plate. Jensen serves a recruiting co-ordinator for the Hawkeyes.
