As the college sports season comes to a close Waldorf College is preparing for a new beginning this Fall. The school is moving from junior college to a four-year school and the school has joined the N-A-I-A ranks and will begin play in the Midwest Classic Conference this fall. Athletic director Denny Jerome feels good about the transition. Jerome says they have had ample time to prepare for the change, starting the first bachelors degree program in 1995 and have had lengthy discussion about going to four year athletics.Jerome says the Midwest Classic Conference is a good fit on and off the field. He says they share the same philosophies with the other institutions in the conference. Jerome says one advantage of the change will be having the athletes for four-years, as he says in junior college you have to go out and recruit new kids every two years. But he says they can now work with the athletes for four years.
