A feedlot owner in Delaware County is facing fines for runoff that killed two dozen trout in Fountain Springs Park. The Department of Natural Resources has determined the runoff came that cause the fish kill two weeks ago came from an open feedlot owned by Richard Bockenstedt of rural Greeley. The D-N-R will seek fish restitution, including staff time for the investigation, lost angler trips and 15 dollars per trout for the 24 dead rainbow and three dead brown trout. Bockenstedt also faces possible water quality violations.
