Motorists need to keep a careful watch for more bicycles on Iowa’s streets this morning. This is national “Bike to Work Day” according to the Iowa coordinator, Angela Dalton, who says there are plenty of reasons to pedal the two-wheeler to the office.Dalton says “It’s good for the environment. It saves money on gas and vehicle maintenance. It’s great for your health. There’s this feeling when you get on your bike right after you get off work you’re doing something that you love.” Dalton says breakfast events will be held to encourage bikers in Des Moines and many other cities across Iowa this morning to give pedal-power a try. Some people may be apprehensive about riding a bike to work because they don’t want to get their good clothes dirty or sweaty, but Dalton says they need to think again.Dalton says she wears a suit every day and doesn’t rides her hardest when she’s on the way to work so she doesn’t get sweaty.
