The Waterloo Bucks will open practice for the upcoming Northwoods League baseball season without their manager. Andy Haines is entering his first season as manager but as an assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State will be at Mississippi State this weekend for an N-C-A-A regional. He says he has mixed emotions, as he looks forward to going to the tournament, while he’s put in a lot of hours to get the Bucks going.The Bucks’ players report today but Haines won’t be able to get to Waterloo until this weekend at the earliest. For now, Haines will turn over the assignment to his staff. He says his assistant coaches are both very capable.
