A woman known as Iowa’s “hat lady” has died at the age of 87. Alvina Sellers of Clarion died Sunday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. For years, she’d entertained and delighted audiences with her wide collection of hats. The thousands of hats in her prized collection have come from famous people and common folks. She showed them off every year at the Iowa State Fair and had even been on David Letterman’s TV show. The funeral is Thursday in Clarion.
