Goldfield man dies in car-truck accident

Authorities have identified the 53-year-old man from the north-central Iowa town of Goldfield who was killed Thursday afternoon in a car-truck collision. Kenneth Thompson was killed about four miles northwest of Webster City after he apparently failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by the semi-truck, driven by David Lesher of Clarion. Both vehicles were totalled. Thompson was declared dead at the scene. Lesher wasn’t hurt. The accident is still under investigation.
