The Governor is on the march this week. Governor Tom Vilsack started his walk across Iowa last night with a tree-planting event in Pacific Junction. It’s the fourth year for Vilsack’s week-long foot trek through small-town Iowa. This year’s walk has stops in places like Silver City, Sully and Springville. Vilsack said last week that he plans to use the alone-time on the road to think about whether he’ll sign or veto the economic stimulus package Iowa Legislators sent him last week. Vilsack appeared at the National Watershed Coalition’s annual conference in Council Bluffs this morning, then eats lunch in Glenwood before walking to Silver City and Reasnor. On Tuesday, the Governor will be in Sully, Lynnville and Grundy Center. On Wednesday, he’ll be in Morrison, Reinbeck, Voorhies and Springville. On Thursday, he’ll start in Viola, then he’ll stop in Stone City, Anamosa and Dyersville. He wraps it up Friday with stops in Farley and Epworth.
