Webster County Sheriff’s trial set for December

A central Iowa sheriff will stand trial on theft charges. Webster County Sheriff Chuck Griggs will go on trial December 9th before a jury. Last month, Griggs was charged with second degree theft, felonious conduct in office and tampering with records. The long-time Webster County Sheriff is accused of “misappropriating” 10-thousand dollars worth of items. Griggs was elected Sheriff in 1980, and he has not resigned that post.
