The North Scott softball team heads into every season with lofty expectations and that is especially the case this year. The Lancers are 13-1 and top-ranked in Class 3A after winning the state title in 2002. Coach Lori Osterberg says it’s part of their tradition that they are always a team that others try to beat. Osterber has a team loaded with experienced players with ten returners and five seniors.Osterberg played on North Scott’s state championship team back in 1993, but will leave the program at the end of the season. She has accepted a job as an assistant coach at L-S-U.Osterberg says the L-S-U post is a great opportunity but she wanted to be able to finish this season at North Scott. The Lancers return to action tomorrow night against Davenport North.
