While many businesses are cutting back employees or holding steady, one central Iowa company is looking for more workers. Pella Corporation spokesperson Kathy Harkema says they’re looking to add employees to meet demand for summer construction products. She says there rollscreen for sliding patio doors has been popular, as has their cordless shade. Harkema wouldn’t give an exact number of employees they’re looking to hire, but says they’re looking for people who can work flexible hours. She says they draw employees from a large area. She says they have people who travel from more than 90 communities throughout the state to work at the corporate headquarters or manufacturing plant. Pella has about seven thousand employees nationwide, with about half working in Pella.
