Those aren’t fireworks rumbling in northern Iowa — they’re motorcycles. Motorcyclists from across the U.S. are taking part in the 19th annual ABATE Freedom Rally in Algona. ABATE stands for A Brotherhood to Aim Toward Education and organizers say the whole object of the gathering is to celebrate freedom. Highlights include a motorcycle sled pull and a concert by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. It’s the second year the rally’s been held in Algona.
