Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry says President Bush’s foreign and domestic policies lack credibility. Kerry, who is a Massachusetts Senator, says Bush has broken promises “across the board.” He says one promise was a tax cut that would create jobs, but the government’s now deep in deficits and jobs have been lost. Kerry says another promise Bush made was to build international support for intervention in Iraq and go to war in Iraq as a “last resort.” Kerry says there’s “an enormous question of trust and an enormous question about the choices this Administration has made.” Kerry says the country can do better. Kerry says his own economic stimulus package is directed at “real, working people…not billionaires.” Kerry proposes a payroll tax holiday that amounts to 750-dollars for an individual. As a way to create more jobs, Kerry also proposes broader federal investment in construction projects, infrastructure like roads, schools, sewer systems, water treatment plants and hospitals. Kerry campaigned in southeast Iowa last night. He is scheduled to meet with Scott County Democrats this (Saturday) morning in Bettendorf.
