Authorities hunting for the bodies of two murdered children now say the possible burial site -may- be in eastern Iowa, and they’re offering a five-thousand dollar reward for whoever finds it. Investigators say 44-year-old Manuel Gehring shot and killed his children, Sarah and Phillip, on July 4th in Concord, New Hampshire, where they lived. It’s believed he buried the 14- and 11-year-olds somewhere along the way as he drove to California, where he was arrested. Credit card receipts show Gehring made at least one stop in Iowa — at a convenience store in Iowa City — and traveled along Interstate 80 into Nebraska. The immediate search is focused on northern Indiana and northeast Illinois, but now extends as far west as Iowa City. It’s believed the bodies were buried during daylight, likely July 5th, within ten miles of I-80, near several big trees, a water pump, concrete pipes and a tan or yellow building.
