The Iowa Conference will be looking at options after Upper Iowa University announced last week it will move to division-two and leave the league. That leaves nine schools in the conference and commissioner John Cochran says they will look at what the conference might do next. He says they’ll have discussions about whether they’re comfortable with just nine teams, he says it’s not an unmanageable number. Cochran says the presidents of the schools will be discussing the issue. Cochran says they will look at the possibility of replacing Upper Iowa. He says they’ve always been receptive of talking to anyone who wants to join the league. He says they may’ve been spoiled geographically with having most schools within two hours of each other. He says they may have to compromise on that. Upper Iowa had been a charter member of the Iowa Conference.
