No one was injured from an ammonia leak yesterday at the new beef packing plant near Tama. The Tama fire department was called to the Iowa Quality Beef plant just after eight o’clock last night to deal with an ammonia leak. When crews arrived on the scene, they talked with plant managers, found the source of the leak, and shut it down. Officials aren’t sure how much ammonia escaped at the plant.
