After being called the best in the country in 2002 the Iowa offensive line will have some new faces this season. All-American tackle Robert Gallery is the lone starter back from last year’s unit which paved the way for a record-breaking season in which the Hawkeyes won 11 games and a share of the Big Ten conference title. The faces may be new but Gallery says the potential is there. “We have the guys and the staff to do it,” Gallery says. “Building that team unity and all those things we need to be successful.”Gallery says there’s a lot of talent on this year’s team — the only thing lacking is experience. “Freshman are freshman,” he says. Gallery says you see the newbies making strides everyday, though. Despite the success of last seasson Gallery says the Hawkeyes feel they have a lot to prove. “I don’t think we’re quite ready, at the moment to play, but that’s what camp is for and I can’t wait for that kick-off on August 30th,” he says. That’s the day the Hawks entertain Miami of Ohio.
