Two Iowa cities are considered among the nation’s healthiest places to live. Organic Style magazine ranks America’s largest cities based on factors including agricultural pollution, air quality, toxic releases, exercise options and dining choices. Iowa City ranked the highest at number 25, while the home of the University of Iowa also ranked number-two in the Midwest. Des Moines was the only other Iowa city on the national list of healthiest cities, coming in at 49th. A few other Midwestern cities made the ranks — Columbia, Missouri at number-9; Lincoln, Nebraska at 34 and Champaign, Illinois at number 36. The top five cities are: in ascending order: Fort Myers, Florida; Olympia, Washington; Grand Junction, Colorado; Rapid City, South Dakota — and the healthiest city? Santa Fe, New Mexico.
