A group of around 20 students and teachers from Enzan City, Japan arrives in Ames tomorrow (Sunday) as part of the ongoing partner city exchange. Elaine Dekovic of Ames says the partner city arrangement is hitting a milestone this year. She says it’s a ten year relationship in which they’ve traded trips to each of the cities every other year. Dekovic say the Japanese delegation will visit the High School in Ames. She says the exchange has been fruitful for both cities. She says members from each city arrive with reluctance and concern about the language and conditions. But, she says by the time they leave, they’ve formed great relationships. The Japanese delegation will leave Ames on Friday. Dekovic says another delegation has been invited to Ames in October to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the partnership.
