Prepartions ramp up for Iowa-ISU game week

Game week is underway at Iowa State and Iowa as they prepare for Saturday’s 51st meeting in Ames. Senior receiver Jack Whitver made some key plays in the Cyclones come from behind win in Iowa City last year. He says it’s always fun to play Iowa because of the fans. He says it’s the “Superbowl” of the whole state and is always emotional. Whitver remembers the Hawkeye-Cyclone matchups during his days growing up in Grinnell. He had gone to all the Iowa State games since he was young.Whitver says while not as well known as some other rivalries, this series has plenty of emotion. He says it doesn’t get the national coverage of other games, but he says it is just as intense.
