A west-central Iowa man has suffered a triple loss — with the deaths of his father and two young daughters, all within a matter of hours. Kim Hollrah, of Lanesboro in Carroll County, got word Sunday his father had died, so he packed his family and headed for his dad’s home in Chadron, Nebraska. That night, as Hollrah, his wife and two girls spent the night in the Chadron home, fire broke out, killing his eight-year-old daughter, Neesa. Late last night, his other daughter, five-year-old Sarah, died of burns at a hospital in Denver, Colorado. Investigators say the fire was sparked by faulty wiring in a lamp.
