The Superintendent of the Waterloo School district has issued a warning to try and prevent a repeat of incidents like the fight at a junior high football game last night. Superintendent Dewitt Jones issued a letter to Waterloo parents, guardians and student-atheletes saying future acts of violence at district events could result in the games being played with no spectators present. Four adults and three juveniles were arrested last night following a brawl during the Central Middle School football game at Holmes Junior High in Cedar Falls. All seven people arrested were from Waterloo. Jones says any Waterloo students found to be involved in the altercation will be disciplined appropriately and any pare or other non-student found to have been fighting will be barred from attending Waterloo athletic events for the rest of the academic year. At least two people were treated for minor injuries following the fight.
