Car shows are plentiful but none of them are like the event underway today in Des Moines that’s gathering 90 rare vehicles, some of them a century old and still running in pristine condition. Scott Brunscheen is executive director of the Salisbury House Foundation, which is hosting its 4th annual Salisbury Automobile Classic. The show, as a base, focuses on classic and prestige autos, like: Cadillacs, Duesenbergs, Packards, Auburns, Cords, Hudsons and others from the 1920s, 30s and 40s. Brunscheen says this year’s show features 90 vintage vehicles, the biggest display yet. The cars will be on display from 1 to 5 P.M. outside Salisbury House, a 42-room mansion that was built in the 1920s for three-million dollars.
