In high school football action tonight class 4A-fourth-ranked Muscatine would take a huge step toward the Mississippi Athletic Conference title with a victory at number-eight Bettendorf. The Muskies are led by one of the state’s top quarterbacks in senior Zack Wells. Musky coach John Each says Wells can use his arms and legs, as he’s in the middle of the pack among conference rushers. Each says Wells forces teams to defend from sideline to sideline, as he can throw the deep out very well.In class 2A, fourth ranked Tipton visits number ten Williamsburg with the outright lead in district six on the line. Williamsburg coach Curt Ritchie says his team has made tremendous strides since the start of the season, with the offensive line improving the most.Since a season opening loss to Center Point-Urbana Ritchie says the Raiders have worked to improve their run defense.Tipton coach Gary Stamp says despite losing a number of standouts from last season Williamsburg has reloaded. Stamp says the Raiders offense may not be as dominant as a year ago but they are still tough to defend.
