U-N-I is hosting the largest cross-country event in the nation Saturday. The N-C-A-A pre-national meet is set to run at the Irv Warren Memorial Golf Course on Saturday. Panther track and cross country coach Chris Bucknam expects a big turnout with 145 teams, including many of the top teams in the nation.Bucknam says the course will be challenging but also provide for good racing. He says the footing is phenomenal. Bucknam say teams compete in the event for two reasons, first to look at the course for the upcoming national meet, and to score points to get an at-large bid to the championships. The N-C-A-A championships will be held on the same course in November.
