Missing man’s body found in Defiance

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of human remains inside a home in the tiny town of Defiance north of Harlan. The Sheriff’s Office says the discovery is part of a three-month-long investigation into the supposed disappearance of Scott Shanahan of Defiance. The remains were found yesterday (Monday) inside the home of Scott Shanahan and Dixie Shanahan. Authorities took the remains to the State Medical Examiner today for an autopsy. The remains have NOT been identified. Dixie Shanahan has been arrested as a “material witness” in the case.
