Iowa State will face a much different Nebraska team on Saturday. A year ago the Cyclones downed the Cornhuskers in Ames, their first win in the series since 1992, and Nebraska finished the season 7-7. A new defensive coordinator has injected new confidence into a Husker defense that has already forced 29-turnovers in a 6-1 start. Nebraska coach Frank Solich says there’s a great difference from last season. He says the players have stepped up to make plays and the defense has been opportunistic. He says it’s a matter of taking the opportunities when they come up in a game. Solich says last year was a perfect example of how important turnovers are. He says they struggled with losing the turnover battle.
