The employees of Engineered Plastics Components Company (E-P-C) in Grinnell are going to the polls today to decide weather or not they will be represented by the united auto workers union. Dennis Walker is a representative of the U-A-W and he feels confident about the outcome. He the employees are voting to unionize to increase health and safety in the workplace, to gain respect from the management and to keep the products of good quality.If the workers vote to approve the union, there will be a seven day waiting period before they can begin negotiating with the company. The results of the vote could be known later today.
