The class 1-A quarterfinals took center stage at the Girls State Volleyball tournament in Cedar Rapids today. Second-rated North Kossuth and number eight West Point/Marquette had a five-game marathon. North Kossuth took the first two games of the match before West Point/Marquette put on a furious comeback, winning the next two games. In the deciding fifth game, the lead see-sawed back and forth until North Kossuth got the win. Number one Tripoli (trih-POH-luh) beat N-U High of Cedar Falls three games to none. Class 2-A action gets underway tonight at six.
