State officials say Iowa appears to be on the road to economic recovery.State labor market analyst Ann Wagner says there have been three consecutive months of increased “non-farm” employment. October’s unemployment rate was 4.5 percent, down from the September rate of 4.6 percent. Wagner says there were about 74-thousand unemployed Iowans in October. That’s about 100 less than in September, but higher than a year ago. Wagner says there is real job growth as officials have a way of analyzing the data to account for hiring for the holidays to discount reoccurring seasonal patterns. She says non-farm employment has increased for three straight months.
