Iowa State broke away to a ten point second half lead then had to hold off a furious UNI rally down the stretch as the Cyclones claimed a 79-76 victory in Hilton Coliseum Sunday afternoon. Jackson Vroman made the most of his return from suspension with 18-points and nine rebounds.Vroman says he’s been practicing with the team, and has been dying to get in a game with the new style of play introduced by new coach Wayne Morgan. Vroman says the Cyclones expected a tough game and that’s what they got. Vroman says UNI executes well and sets good screens, making them tough to guard. The Cyclones are 2-0 under first year coach Wayne Morgan. Morgan says it was a good experience for his team because it was a good, tight game. Morgan says his team didn’t fold when UNI took the lead and made the plays it took to win.
