The University of Northern Iowa’s college of education is hosting a discussion tonight for teachers and administrators to talk about the best way to use technology in the classroom. U-N-I’s “Intime” project was created in 1999 with a federal grant, and co-director Karla Krueger says it offers help to teachers preparing for the classroom.Krueger says there are 540 videos on the website, showing teachers in the classroom “integrating” technology like computers in their courses. It’s free, and anyone with an Internet connection can access it. Krueger says about 20 percent of those who do click on it are from another country. The webaddress is www.intime.uni.edu. Krueger says the project focuses on making technology a part of “quality teaching.” The panel discussion on the topic starts at 6:30 tonight at the West Des Moines Marriott.
