The focus for college basketball coaches and players has shifted from the court to the classroom this week with final exams. It can be an anxious time for all the big four programs iun the state but especially so at Drake where the two-point-oh rule can make a player ineligible at mid-season.Drake coach Tom Davis who says the rule has the biggest impact on basketball players as he says it ensures a high graduation rate. He says it is tougher on winter sports, as you can lose some players to grades in the midst of the season. Davis says there are always concerns during exam week, and he says you never take it for granted. He says the finals in college are so much more important in college than they are in high school and athletes have to learn how to handle that.Drake is 3-3 and returns to action at home Saturday against Iowa State.
