Voters in southwest Iowa have approved a six and-a-half Million dollar bond issue for Iowa Western Community College. About 48-hundred registered voters from a seven-county area went to the polls Tuesday to pass the measure by a margin of 4,798 to 1,339. Some money from the bond issue will remodel a building on the central campus of IWCC in Council Bluffs, and establish a new veterinarian-technology program. Part of the money will build 2 multi-purpose buildings at the college’s Shelby County center in Harlan, and establish a new satellite center in Atlantic. The college tried to pass the bond issue twice in the last two years, both attempts unsuccessful before it finally passed yesterday.
